RAG Sleepout

For Barnabus

According to news reports homelessness in Manchester has increased dramatically. I am sure that all of us have walked past a homeless person on Oxford Road asking us for some change. I have been in that situation various times and most of the times it ended with me thinking that I have no change on me and that next time I should probably go to the supermarket and get them at least something to eat. Individual action is great and it restores their faith in humanity but when more people get together then the result is much bigger. Barnabus is one of the respectable charities that support the homeless and socially deprived. They assist 600 visiting homeless and vulnerable people each week, many of whom have severe addictions or mental health issues. Their work is absolutely admirable and thus, I decided to help them by fundraising for them. My fundraising will be accompanied by a small challenge organised by Manchester RAG, the Sleepout, where students of the University of Manchester sleep outside for a night in order to raise awareness for homelessness.
